You stare at the door/barrier/gate, its surface/frame/lock a mocking reminder/symbol/obstacle. You've tried everything/anything/all your tricks, but it's stuck/immovable/unyielding. Panic starts to creep/swell/rise inside you. This situation/ predicament/dilemma is dire/serious/critical, and time is running out/away/short. You feel like a fly in a jar/prisoner in your own home/scapegoat. Where can you go? What can you do/try/think? You're truly/completely/utterly out of options.
Keys! Where Are My Keys?
I swear I/You/We looked at it/for them/right here. The car is and I can’t find my keys! Have/Maybe/Can you believe this?! My brain/eyes/patience are failing me/him/us.
I’ve checked every/looked in all the/scoured the usual spots: my desk drawer, under the couch, by the door. Maybe I left them at/Did I leave them/Where could I possibly have put work/the store/that coffee shop?
I’m starting to panic/getting really stressed/losing it. This is so frustrating!

Help, I'm Trapped Outside! (House Edition)
My gate is locked/stuck/jammed, and I can't get inside! My phone/keys/wallet is inside/out there/in the car too. This is/was/seems to be a real disaster/nightmare/pickle. I don't know what to do!
My neighbors/family/friends are probably/likely/hopefully at work/school/the mall, so they won't be able to help. I tried calling/texting/knocking but there's no answer. I'm starting to freak out/panic/get really anxious.
Maybe I can climb through a window/find another way in/break the door down? That sounds dangerous/crazy/like a bad idea. What should I do?!

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. I just stumbled shut out in the bitterly cold air again. Seriously?! How do I continuously doing it? It's like I have a superpower for losing my keys at the happiest possible time. At this stage, I should just rent a second set of keys on a cord around my neck.
